Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the sensitivity of a silver halide photographic sensitive material used in medical radiography and inhibit the occurrence of fog by combinedly adding a spectrally sensitizing dye and a fog inhibitor to the material. CONSTITUTION:To a silver halide photographic sensitive material for X-ray photography used in medical radiography are combinedly added one or more kinds of compounds represented by formula I (where each of Z1 and Z2 is a group of nonmetallic atoms for forming an optionally substituted heterocyclic ring, and each of R1 and R2 is lower alkyl, hydroxy, carboxy or sulfoalkyl) or represented by formula II (where Z3 is a group of nonmetallic atoms for forming an optionally substituted heterocyclic ring, Z4 is a group of nonmetallic atoms for forming a nonsubstituted heterocyclic ring, R4 is H, lower alkyl or carboxyalkyl, and R5 is H or lower alkyl) and one or more kinds of compounds represented by formula III, IV or V (where R5 is H, halogen, hydroxy, alkyl or the like, each of R6, R7 and R8 is COOM or SO3M, and M is H, alkali or NH4).
