Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the sintering powder having a small thermal yellowing factor by a method wherein a specified amount of water is mixed into acrylonitorile resin fines, the mixture is extruded to form pellets, which are then cooled and pulverized.
CONSTITUTION: The mixture of 100pts.wt. of acrylonitorile resin fines containing 40W98wt% of acrylonitorile and 2W10pts.wt. of water is extruded by an extruder at a resin temperature in the range of 130W200°C, and the extrudate is pulverized to a particle size of 8W200 mesh (Tyler screen).
USE: It is possible to obtain a high-polymeric, porous sintered body having minute open cells and suitable for air-diffusing pipes, printing rollers, various filter materials, inking pad, etc.
