Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the leakage of a liquid and its position accurately and easily by feeding a cable into a pipe and by detecting leaking water by a flow detector provided on the front end of the cable while measuring the length of the fed cable. CONSTITUTION:When cable 8 having flow detector 7 atop is fed into water pipe 1, cable 8 extends along water pipe 1. If water leaks at point A of water pipe 1, flow detector 7 detects nothing between point A and water sealing stopper 2, but generates a water flow signal at point A. Since this water flow signal is displayed on displayed device 10, the feed of cable 8 is stopped immediately and the length of cable 13 having been fed is measured by cable distance measurer 13, so that the point of the leakage can be detected. Simultaneously, the amount of the leakage water can be judged on the display of display device 10. Thus, the liquid leakage and its position can be detected accurately and easily.
