Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the pollution that considerably contaminates rivers by flocculating the foaming components of the foam extinguishing in waste water through chemical addition treatment and discharging the filtrate thereof after neutralizing the same.
CONSTITUTION: Titled waste water, particularly the waste water of the case to be flowed to sewer etc. after testing of foaming of foam extinguishing agents is collected and is put into a waste water tank 1. Next, the waste water is pumped 6 into a batch type reaction tank 2, where MgCl2 and FeCl3 are added to the waste water from injecting tanks under stirring. When caustic soda is similarly added and the liquid is controlled to basicity (about 10.5pH) while pH is being measured with pH test paper, flocs are produced, and the foaming components in the waste water are contained therein. Further when a high-polymer flocculant is added under stirring, the flocs grow to larger sizes to permit filtration. This is pumped 7 to a vacuum precoating filter 3, and is filtered thereby. The treated water is drawn by a pump 9 and enters a liquid receiving tank 4, from which it is further pumped 10 to a pH controlling tank 5, where it is neutralized with a hydrochloric acid, after which it is discharged.
