Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently generate hot blast through the enlargement of a radiation area and prevent the occurrence of danger due to overheating, by a method wherein PTC heaters are installed at a heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:A hot blast generator consists of mainly a flat toroidal heat pipe 1, a plural number of PTC heaters 2 mounted at the heat pipe, and an air feed fan 3, and is housed in a casing (not shown). A large number of radiation fins 13 are located astride straight parts 1a and 1b of the heat pipe 1, and a fixing member 4, consisting of rectangular nip plates 5 and 6, made of metal, and a metal block 7 monolithically mounted on the upper surface of the nip plate 5, is installed at the center of the one straight part 1a. The PTC heaters 2 are nipped by means of the nip plates 5 and 6, and the heat pipe 1 is tightly fitted in perforations 8 made in the block 7. Selection of the shape of the heat pipe 1 also permits constitution of the hot blast generator having a desired shape.
