Abstract

PURPOSE: To equalize the distribution of flow rate in both branched pipes all the time by providing a throttle plate operating according to differences in flow rate between both the branched pipes to at least one of the branched pipes connecting the main intake pipe with each intake port of a double suction type air blower.
CONSTITUTION: A suction pipe 1 consists of two branched pipes 5A and 5B connecting the main suction pipe 3 with the suction ports of a double suction type air blower. Each of the branched pipes 5A and 5B is provided with each of Pitot tubes 10A and 10B by which the flow rates of air flowing through the branched pipes 5A and 5B are converted into pressures which act on both sides of a piston 11. Thus, if flow rates of air flowig in both the branched pipes 5A and 5B are different, the piston 11 is moved up and down and therefore, the passing surface area of the branched pipe 5B is varied by the throttle plate 14.
