Abstract

PURPOSE: In the determination of chemical components in humor utilizing oxidation and reduction reactions, the sample is treated iodic acid or an iodate salt to remove reductive inhibitors, whereby the determination can be simply done without any adverse effect on the target substance.
CONSTITUTION: A sample in humor such as blood, plasma, serum or urine is previously combined with iodic acid or its salt such as ammonium iodate, potassium iodate, or sodium iodate under a condition of 3W5pH. After standing, cholesterol is determined by the cholesterol oxidase method, triglyceride by the glycerophosphate oxidase method, phospholipid by the choline oxidase method and the p-phenylenediamine method is applied to celluloplasmine to determine uric acid and choline esterase.
