Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain photoconductive fine powder for manufacturing a photoreceptor which does not cause a rise or a drop in the electric potential of a latent image, so-called memory phenomenon even if reused after being allowed to stand in a dark atmosphere over a long time by treating the surface of photoconductive powder by the hydrolysis of a silane coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:A silane coupling agent represented by the formula (where X is a hydrolyzable group such as Cl, alkoxy or acetoxy and R is an olefinic org. group such as a 1-20C aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic group having a functional group such as glycidyl, NH2, SH or epoxy) is dropped in an aqueous ethanol soln. and uniformly dispersed. Photoconductive particles such as CdS particles are put in the resulting treating fluid, agitated, filtered, dried, and cured to obtain silane treated particles. The particles are then dispersed in a binder resin to form a photoconductive layer. Thus, a photoreceptor is manufactured. This receptor does not cause memory phenomenon even if repeatedly used or reused after being allowed to stand in the dark over a long term, and a stably copied image is obtd.
