Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a nonstaining polysulfide-based sealing material having a high bonding strength and neither discoloring nonstaining the surface of alkaline materials such as mortar cements, etc. when applied thereon, by compounding a low- molecular polysulfide as a tackifier.
CONSTITUTION: A principal agent is formed by adding a low-molecular polysulfide of an average molecular weight of 1,000 or less, together with, as needed, a filler, a plasticizer, etc., to 100pts.wt. polysulfide (ii) of an average molecular weight of 4,000 or more. Then, the principal agent is mixed with a curing agent obtained by dissolving a vulcanizer, e.g., PbO2, etc., and a vulcanization accelerator, e.g., stearic acid, etc., in a chlorinated paraffin, etc., and then injected into an adherend portion to form a cured seal.
EFFECT: The sealing material is excellent in low temperature workability and tensile bonding strength and also is free of bleeding of the plasticizer because the amount of the plasticizer to be added can be reduced.
