Abstract

PURPOSE: To form coating of optimum thickness uniformly over the whole surface to be coated by feeding electricity for a short time, by feeding electricity by applying voltage across a metallic vessel containing water soluble coating medium and an electrode, which is installed in the vessel, and which has area in a specified ratio to that of the surface to be coated, in addition having specified distance to the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: Water soluble coating medium 3 is poured 2 into a closed metallic vessel 1, and an electrode 4 is inserted 2 into the coating medium 3. The area ratio of the surface to be coated of the vessel 1 to the electrode 4 is set at ≤1/200, and the distance between the electrode 4 and the surface of the vessel 1 is predetermined at 30W200mm. Electricity is fed by applying voltage across the electrode 4 and the vessel 1 from an electric power source 6, hereby ionized molecules of coating medium is moved toward the inner surface of the vessel 1 to form coating on the inner surface 1a by electrodeposition. As a result, dry uniform coating of 15W25μ in thickness is formed over the whole inner surface to be coated of the vessel 1.
