Abstract
PURPOSE: A metal soap is added to a dope of a specific polyurethane at any stage before spinning and they are dry spun to produce a polyurethane elastic yarn having improved unwinding property, running lubricity and resistance to deterioration caused by chlorine.
CONSTITUTION: A solution of a polyurethane resulting from the reaction between (A) a polydiol of more than 600mol.wt. weigth and higher 60°C melting point such as polytetramethylene ether glycol, (B) an organic diisocyanate such as 4,4'- diphenylmethanedisocyanate and (C) a difunctional active hydrogen compound of less then 400mol.wt. such as ethylenediamine is combined, before spinning, with 0.005W5wt% of a metal soap and they are dry spun to produce the objective polyurethane elastic yarn. The metal soap is desired to dissolve in the solvent of polyurethane by 0.1g/dl at the spinning temperature.
