Abstract

PURPOSE: Title porous hollow fibers having improved uniformity in fine pures, stability in retaining shape and high gas-permeability, that are made from a composition containing a crystalline and thermoplastic organic high polymer and a metal compound capable of functioning as a nucleating agent.
CONSTITUTION: Porous hollow fibers having a number of fine pores connecting with each other on the wall surfaces are made from a thermoplastic and crystalline organic high polymer that can be formed by melting and contains more than 0.1, preferably 0.1W2 wt% of a metal compound capable of functioning as a nucleating agent. The metal compound is preferably the one of a metal in group I, II and III of the periodic table and from the viewpoint of the performance of porous hollow fibers compounds of Li, Na, K and Al are preferred and used in the form of organic acid salts.
