Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an antifouling paint capable of exhibiting constant antifouling effect for a long period and preventing the adhesion of marine life, and suitable for the treatment of fishing net, etc., by the use of specific amounts of polybutene and a rosin as spreading agents.
CONSTITUTION: The objective antifouling paint containing an antifouling agent such as copper naphthenate, a diluent such as toluene, and ≥20wt% of polybutene and ≥20wt% of rosin as spreading agents, based on the whole composition except the diluent. The sum of both spreading agents is ≥60wt%, pref. 80W90wt%. The amount of the diluent is pref. 40W60wt% of the whole paint composition.
