Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve a thermal efficiency while to make the device compact by a method wherein a drying chamber, a carbonizing chamber and a fusing chamber are formed sequentially in vertical arrangement and solid contents of carbonized sludge only are guided into the fusing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge is dried in a drying chamber 2 by feeding air heated in a heat exchanging tube 24 and is dropped into a carbonizing chamber 3 through an overflow pipe 26. On the other hand, exhaust gas which absorbed moisture from the sludge and came to an upper portion of the drying chamber 2 from the drying chamber is injected into a carbonizing chamber 3 from a lower portion thereof through an air duct 30 to change the sludge dropped from the first overflow pipe 26 into a jet stream and the sludge is carbonized being heated from an upper side thereof with a burner 20 of a combustion chamber 21. Accompanied with this carbonizing, the volatilizables are burnt in the combustion chamber 21 and are flowed into an exhaust duct 28 while solid contents are risen and dropped into a fusing chamber 4 through the second overflow pipe 35. Ash of the sludge dropped into the fusing chamber 4 is changed into a slug by fusing it with a burner 36 and is dropped onto a conveying conveyor 38 through a withdrawal hole 37.
