Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the highly accurate measurement of flow speed by disposing main heat wires and compensating heat wires to an annular supporting frame mounted to a pipeline. CONSTITUTION:Platinum or other temp. measuring resistors (main heat wires) 4 are stretched to an annular supporting frame 1 provided with an outside shape permitting interposition to a pipeline by fitting its size. It is preferable that the terminal plates 5, 6 connecting these resistors 4 are constituted of the same material as that of the resistors 4 so as not to receive the effect of elongating and contracting with the thermal change of the resistors 4. Two hot wires 7 or thermistors 7' for temp. compensation are provided on the side of the two resistors 4. Arrangement is so made as to maintain the temperatures of the main heat wires 4 and the heat wires 7 for compensation constant and from the necessary quantity of electricity the flow speed or flow rate is measured.
