Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately analyze the distribution in the thickness of oil by simultaneously photographing a standard sample of a known thickness at the time of photographing the oil flowing out onto water or recording the same with a television camera and a VTR. CONSTITUTION:A partition 2 is made in the central part on one side of a water tank 1, and heavy oil is put therein, then the partition plate is removed, whereby the oil is diffused in the water tank 1. The diffusion condition of the oil is photographed by a camera 3 installed above the water tank. In order to record the photographing time, a timer display plate 4 is provided on the water surface of the water tank. At the same tim, a standard sample is put in the vessel 5 and the standard sample is photographed. The resulted video is inputted to an electronic computer, whereby the thickness of the oil for the video density value is obtained.
