Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the stability of the internal combustion engine using an alcoholic mixture fuel and to reduce the amount of contaminative component contained in the exhaust gas from the engine by obtaining an optimum warming-up engine rotation speed based on a difference between a reference engine rotation speed and a current engine rotation speed according to which the mixture ratio of the fuel and the ignition timing are controlled. CONSTITUTION:When a starter is turned for starting the engine, the alcoholic mixture fuel is fed to an injection nozzle 26 through a fuel pump 22, a pressure regulator 23 and a filter 24. An alcohol sensor 29 senses the mixture rate of alcohol and give the information to a computer 40. The computer 40, receiving information not only from the alcohol sensor 39 but also from other sensors 33-38, selects a program for determining the air-fuel ratio, ignition timing and so on and provides a control signal to the respective parts. In order to control the engine rotation speed during the warming-up, a difference is obtained between the reference engine rotation speed N0 predetermined with respect to particular conditions of the engine and the current engine rotation speed N1, and if a condition of N0-N1<0 is satisfied, a signal is outputted to increase the mixture ratio and advance the ignition timing.
