Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of a dangerous situation that water supply to a boiler is interrupted temporarily in a variable pressure operation plant, by employing such an arrangement that auxiliary steam can be supplied promptly from an auxiliary steam header when shortage of low-pressure steam is caused, for instance, at the time of "fast cut back".
CONSTITUTION: A thermo-electric power plant comprises a high-pressure turbine 6 to which steam produced by a boiler 1 is supplied, intermediate-pressure turbine 10, low-pressure turbine 11, condenser 12, etc. In such an arrangement, an auxiliary steam header 32 is connected via a steam converting valve 31 to a high-pressure steam supply pipe 30 for supplying high-pressure steam to the high-pressure turbine 6. The header 32 is also connected via a pressure-reducing valve 33 to an exhaust pipe 34 extended from the turbine 6. At the time of "fast cut back" or when the load is disconnected, a steam control valve 4 is closed to supply main steam produced by boiler 1 to the auxiliary steam header 32 after reducing its pressure by the steam converting valve 31. Here, the header 32 is connected to an extraction pipe 21 via an auxiliary steam check valve 35, pressure control valve 36 and fast cut valves 37a, 37b.
