Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the defective current supply to an electrode wire and defective feeding of the electrode wire and perform titled welding well by supplying current to the electrode wire through the good conductive guide liner disposed at the curved part of a curved torch.
CONSTITUTION: As the lever 10 of a torch holder 1 is operated, an electrode wire feeder, not shown, operates and while a good conductive electrode wire is being fed, current is supplied to the tubular conduit 3 of a torch neck 2 and a guide liner 8 also, while a shielding gas is being supplied from a gas ejection part 9 into a gas nozzle 6 through the holder 1 and the conduit 3, welding is accomplished. At this time, since the electrode wire abuts on the inside surface of the good conductive guide liner 8 over a considerable section at least in the curved part of the curved torch, the power supply for welding takes place in this abutted part and at the same time, the power supply also takes place in a tip 5 for power feeding. Hence, the defective current supply and the defective wire feeding owing to thermal deterioration of the tip 5 are prevented.
