Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover the activity of a salt bath in a short period of time without replacing the salt bath by passing current across cathode of a metal plate immersed in degraded salt bath and anode of metal pot or metal product immersed in salt bath. CONSTITUTION:A current supplier 8 is used to pass current across a metal plate 7 in salt bath 2 as cathode and a metal pot 1 as anode to deposit metallic ions in the bath 2 on the metal plate 7. The process reduces metallic ions and metallic cpds. in the bath 2 to the level before degradation and recovers the activity of the bath 2. If the bath 2 is agitated by a stirrer 3, it reduces the time needed for activation. Also, the same effect can be obtained by passing current using an anode of metal product 9 inserted in the pot 1.
