Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance magnetic characteristics, insulation property and space factor of the magnetic steel plate by a method wherein a pulsative laser beam is irradiated onto a surface of the magnetic steel plate and, thereafter, an insulation coating is applied on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The pulse laser is irradiated against the magnetic steel plate 1 at a right angle to a rolling direction F. Thereby, laser irradiated parts 2 are allowed to be arranged at a right angle to the rolling direction F and small protrusion groups 5 are generated to both sides of the irradiated parts 2. Because said small protrusions are buds of magnetic domain and, when said steel plate 1 is magnetized, a magnetic domain 3 is finely divided by magnetic sections 4 extended from said buds, iron loss is reduced. Subsequently, in providing the insulation coating on the surface of the steel plate, it is not necessary to attain to enhance magnetic characteristics by utilizing tension effect of said insulation coating. Therefore, because a thickness of the insulation coating can be made thin, the enhancement of space factor can be attained.
