Abstract
PURPOSE:To dry a wet film after development at a low temp. in a short time without damaging it and making the image unclear by dipping the film in a mixed soln. of a halogenated hydrocarbon which is liq. at ordinary temp. and a water soluble org. liq. which is dissolved in the hydrocarbon and taking out the film. CONSTITUTION:A mixed soln. of a halogenated hydrocarbon such as trich-lorofluoroethane which is liq. at ordinary temp. and a water soluble org. liq. such as ethanol which is dissolved in the hydrocarbon is poured into storage vessel 1, and wet film 29 is passed through vessel 1 in about 5min or less and further passed through a warm air fan unit of 50 deg.C or below to dry completely. The mixing ratio of the hydrocarbon and the org. liq. is (60-99.5):(40-0.5), and in place of the mixed soln. an azeotropic composition may be used. By passing film 29 through vessel 1 alone, 95-98% of the water is removed. The mixed soln. is then separated into a water enriched layer and a less water layer with liq. separating tube 21 of water separating vessel 2, and a water enriched org. liq. portion becomes the upper layer and is introduced into water soluble org. liq. recovering container 5 through drainpipe 7. The remaining hydrocarbon-org. liq. mixed soln. is fed to vessel 1 again with pump 16. Thus, the film is dried quickly and continuously.
