Abstract

PURPOSE:To pickup the images of scattering bodies such as fine particle groups efficiently by using lenses and a special torus slit. CONSTITUTION:The 1st, 2nd lenses 3, 5, and a torus slit 4 for selecting consant angle scattering light are disposed in a lens-barrel 8 in such a manner that the torus slit 4 serves as the rear focal plane of the 1st lens 3 and the front focal plane of the 2nd lens 5; also, a film box 9 is fixed to the lens-barrel end in such a manner that a photographic film or dry plate 6 is positioned to the rear focal plane of the 2nd lens 5. Sample scattering bodies are installed on the fron focal plane 2 of the 1st lens 1, and parallel luminous fluxes such as lasers are irradiated through a pupil hole 1 of a suitable size. Of the light scattered by the sample scattering bodies, only the scattered light of a constant angle determined by the focal length of the 1st lens 3 and the diameter of the torus slit 4 is selected and is passed through the torus slit 4, so that it is imaged on the film plane 6. Thereby, not only the information in the local micro-region of the sample but also the information in a wide two- dimensionl region are obtained.
