Abstract
PURPOSE: An abrasive for polishing the rough surface of a case for a watch, having improved griding power and life, comprising aluminum oxide or silicon carbide, olive oil, and stearic acid or paraffin as a binder in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: 40W85wt% aluminum oxide or silicon carbide (preferably WA #2000) is blended with 5W25wt% olive oil for preventing discoloration and for lubrication, and 5W25wt% stearic acid or paraffin as a binder, to give the desired abrasive.
EFFECT: Owing to a lot of olive oil there is no defects caused by the occurrence of discoloration, and since the abrasive has low visocosity, it has improved elongation on abrasive paper, removes cut powder, and prevents clogging. The vibration is suppressed not to form spotted parts, cleaning of abrasive cloth or paper is not required, and the improvement of workability and the stabilization of quality are attained.
