Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the circuit construction and provide the low-cost power supply device for an electrodialysis or the like, by continuously controlling the DC current, which is caused to flow through a treated liquid, following the electric conductivity of the liquid.
CONSTITUTION: When a power switch is closed, the pump of an electrodialytic vessel 3 is started. As a result, a solution of salt is filled between detection electrodes 10, an electric circuit is closed, a capacitor 11 is charged and its charged voltage is applied to the control electrode 6 of a triac 7 through a bidirectional switching element 9. When said voltage reaches the breakover voltage of the triac 7, it is turned on and undergoes AC phase control. At the same time, a rectifier 2 produces DC output so that DC current flows in the dialytic vessel 3. The DC current flowing in the vessel is heavy in the initial stage of desalting in the vessel but decreases according as the desalting progresses.
