Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a detection without requiring uniform rotation of a magnetic recording unit by detecting automatically a phase shift of a regenerative output of angle information recorded on the magnetic recording unit on the basis of output pulse of an encoder coupled directly to the magnetic recording unit.
CONSTITUTION: Angle information recorded on a disc magnetic recording unit 1 is read on a reproducing head 5, given in pulse 7, leading and trailing pulses are created 29 from its output 105. Then, an A-phase pulse 101 of the output pulse and a zero signal pulse 102 from an encoder 4 coupled to the disc magnetic recording unit 1 are inputted to a counter 8 to create reference signals 103, 104. Then, a phase error gate pulse 110 is created on the basis of pulses 103, 104, a phase error pulse is formed through AND circuit 28 and counted on a counter 30, and the phase error number is displayed 31.
