Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure an instrumental error correctly with a small quantity of fluid by computing an instrumental error of a flow meter through concurrent counting of a referene pulse with the assistance of a counter connected to a flow meter and a counter which counts a reference water volume. CONSTITUTION:Water passes through a water supply electromagnetic valve 6, then a city water supply meter 9 into a reference tank 1. When the water level touches an electrode 2a inside the tank 1, the second counter 29 begins counting a pulse from a pulse oscillator 27. When a reference quantity of water is stored inside of the tank 1 and the water level touches an electrode 2b, the counting stops. In the meantime, when the first pulse from a pickup 23 which detects the rotation of a rotary disc 25 installed on a pilot pointer of a city water meter 9 is counted by a counter 26 after the water level touched the electrode 2d, the first counter 28 begins counting the pulse 27. When the counter 26 indicates a prearranged value, the counter 28 is stopped. An instrumental error of the meter 9 is sought through arithmetic operation based on the counted values of the both counters 28, 29.
