Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce noises caused at the time of chain driving by a method wherein the sliding surface of the 1st shoe is made to be the same with the shortest sliding line of the chain, while a part of the 2nd shoe on the side where the chain slackens is projected to the side where the chain is caught in off the shortest sliding line of the chain.
CONSTITUTION: The shoe 6' between driven sprockets 2 and 3 is constituted to have a uniform thickness with the sliding surface 6a' thereof being made to be the same with the shortest sliding line A of the chain so as not to geive strain to the chain 4. Meanwhile, on the sliding surface on the side opposite to the shoe 6', a shoe 7' is provided only in the part C of the slackening side of a driving sprocket 1, while in the part D on the strained side thereof no shoe is provided in consideration of cost therefor as well since only a slight vibration is found at low speed. As the result, the strain of the chain 4 is eliminated by the sliding surface 6a' and the vibration in the part C on the chain-slackening side of the driving sprocket 1 is controlled by a sliding surface 7a', whereby the noises of shock and engagement are reduced.
