Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the durability of a core which is embedded in an endless rubber belt fitted on a driving and a driven wheels, by making the core of iron wires and chemicall-fiber strings.
CONSTITUTION: The core 6 is embedded in the endless rubber belt 1 for a caterpillar so that the belt has a high tensile strength and a good flexibility. The iron wires 6a and chemical-fiber strings 6b of the core cooperate with each other to cope with tension, bending and elongation. The exfoliation of the iron wires 6a from the rubber of the belt is prevented by the chemical-fiber strings 6b. The elongation and cutting-off of the strings is prevented by the iron wires. Although the volume of the core is equal to that of a conventional core made of only iron wires or chemical- fiber strings, the durability of the former core is much higher than that of the latter.
