Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the turn-up of the covering layers on the connecting part and the damages thereof when driving, by covering the welded connecting part of two steel pipe piles with rubber tube and covering the upper pile's cover layer with it and letting its lower and covered by the lower pile's cover layer. CONSTITUTION:After applying resilient and anticorrossive rubber tube 7 to the uppermost part of the lower pile 1b where no covering layer 3 exists, the lower end of the rubber tube 7 is covered with ordinary covering on the lower pile 1b. Then the upper part of the rubber tube 7 is turned up in order to expose the connecting part. At the contact point 2 with the upper pile 1a the covering layer 3 is welded. The rubber tube 7 is again turned up to cover the covered layer 3 at the lower part of the upper pile 1a. The lower part of the rubber tube 7 is covered by the upper part of the covered layer 3 of the lower pile 1b, while the lower part of the covered layer 3 of the upper pile 1a is covered by the rubber tube 7. Therefore the turn-up of the covering layer 3 at the time driving and the possible damages thereof can effectively be prevented.
