Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a hot gas contg. little soot and little residual oxygen by introducing hydrocarbons into a flow of a preheated oxidizing agent from nozzles after which this mixed flow is accelerated at a throat section, decelerated, and fed to a reaction chamber to attain uniform mixting.
CONSTITUTION: Oxygen 10 is preheated to the igniting temp. of hydrocarbons 12 or above with preheater 9 together with necessary steam 11, and it is fed to mixing section 3 through section 2 for feeding oxidizing agent 14. Hydrocarbons 12 are introduced into section 3 through feeders 8 installed at 120W150° to the flow of agent 14, and they are uniformly dispersed in agent 14. Part of hydrocarbons 12 is ignited, and the mixed flow is accelerated at throat section 4 to facilitate mixing. The flow is then decelerated at diffuser section 5 and fed to reaction chamber 6. After finishing reaction, product 15 is fed to the next process from exhaust section 7 as a hot gas of 1,500W2,300°C.
