Abstract

PURPOSE: To form an air curtain in the communicating part and prevent the entry of pollution materials into insulator chamber by setting the amount of the gas to be blown into the vent pipes provided to the insulator chamber and the communicating part between the insulator chamber and dust collecting chamber at desired value.
CONSTITUTION: Gas introduced into an insulator chamber 9 through a lead-in pipe 11 flows down in straightening pipes 16, 17 and the gas introduced into an annular pipe 12 through a lead-in pipe 14 is discharged through a slit 13. Since the velocities of flow of both gases are independently controlled by respective valves 10, 15, the velocities of flow of the gases adequate for the perfect air curtain to be formed in the straightening pipe 17 may be selected. Because of this, the dust floating in the dust collecting chamber 3 of the insulator chamber 9 outlet is cut off by the air curtain formed in the straightening pipe 17 and is prevented from flowing into the insulator chamber 9. Hence, the surface of the insulator is kept sufficiently clean and the decrease in insulation performance may be prevented.
