Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a gas of flow at a uniform flow speed in a plurality of passages in a dust collector, and thereby prevent the dust collecting efficiency from being decreased, by providing on at least one of the upstream side and down-stream side of a dust collecting chamber a plurality of rotary vane type dampers which are used to regulate the flow rate of a gas and which are mounted on horizontally extended rotary shafts.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of flat, vertically-extended, parallel-spaced dust collecting electrodes 2 are provided in a casing 1 which constitutes a dust collecting chamber. A plurality of discharge electrodes 3 are disposed among the dust collecting electrodes 2, and a hopper 4 for discharging dust to the outside of the casing 1 is provided at a lower portion thereof. A reducing duct 5 is provided at either the upstream side or downstream side of the casing 1. Dampers used to regulate the flow rate of a gas and consisting of rotary vanes 12 mounted on horizontally extended rotary shafts 11 are provided at an inlet of the reducing duct 5. Owing to this construction, minimal and maximal flow rates of a gas are arranged in the horizontal direction. Consequently, the vibrations of the dust collecting electrodes and a decrease in the dust collecting efficiency can be prevented.
