Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the catalyst for burners of high activity in low temperature region comprising carrying platinum particles evenly and finely on inorganic fiber carrier.
CONSTITUTION: Dinitrodiamino platinum is added to an aqueous nitric acid solution containing nitric acid 250W450g/l so that the platinum metal in the mixed solution is contained at 250W450g/l. Thence, it is dissolved in a temperature range of 60W100°C and is then aged and inorganic fiber carrier of, e.g., alumina, glass, asbestos, etc. is dipped in the solution after aging. Thence, the fiber carrier impregnated with the foregoing solution is reduced, whereby the catalyst for burners of high activity in low temperature region comprising evenly dispersing and carrying fine platinum particles is obtained. This catalyst is suited for combustion of town gas, volatile fuels, etc.
