Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:L-γ-glutamylanilides shown by the formulas IWIV (R is L-γ- glutamyl group).
EXAMPLE: L-γ-glutamyl-3,5-dicarboxyanilide.
USE: Useful as a substrate for qualitative analysis of γ-glutamyltranspeptidase, having high solubility in water and a high decomposition rate of substrate by enzyme.
PROCESS: A phthaloyl-L-glutamic anhydride is reacted with a corresponding aniline derivative to prepare a phthaloyl-L-γ-glutamylanilide, from which a phthaloyl- protective group is removed to give a L-γ-glutamylanilide.
