Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size and thickness, by securing a shaped magnetic substance on a thin metal plate for inductance.
CONSTITUTION: A fluid magnetic substance mixture 11 is put on the top of a fixed ram 7 on a mold 5. A thin metal plate 1 whose outside termlnals are bent perpendicularly to a zigzag pattern is inserted. The mixture 11 is then inserted on the metal plate 1. A mold cavity 6 is closed with a movable column 10. Heating and pressurization are effected to perform prescribed molding. Since the magnetic substance 11 is an electric insulator, a means such as a bobbin is not needed. A product resulting from the molding is firm and handles easily. Because the product is shaped like a chip, its terminals can be directly soldered on a printed circuit board. This results in miniaturizing an electronic device.
