Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve an efficiency of driving a steel plate cell by a method wherein vibratory pile drivers are mechanically connected to a synchronizing means to provide a synchronized operation.
CONSTITUTION: Initial positions of the eccentric weights of each of the vibratory pile drivers 2 attached to a steel pipe cell 1 are set at the same position. The motors mounted in each of the vibratory pile drivers 2 are started simultaneously and a power force is transmitted to a synchronizing means 3 from the motor shafts via connection rods 4. The synchronizing means 3 has a double helical gear at its central part, and other helical gears mounted at leading ends of the connection rods 4 are engaged with the former helical gears. Phases of each of the motors for each of the pile drivers 2 are aligned with each other by the synchronizing means 3. Vibratory force of the vibratory pile driver 2 is transmitted to the steel pipe cell 1 via chuck and the steel pipe cell 1 is driven into the ground.
