Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a desired jet pattern as well as to prevent the clogging of nozzle by connecting the outlet ends of paired fluid inlet pipes opposing each other and also providing a slit-like nozzle on the cross-section of the connected outlet ends facing each other.
CONSTITUTION: The paired fluid inlet pipes 14a and 14b of the nozzle 14 are connected to each other at their ends in a face-to-face manner, and the slit-like nozzle 14d is provided on the cross-section of the connected portion 14c. Approx. the same properties of the fluids 18a and 18b are made to collide with each other at the connected portion 14c and then jetted from the nozzle 14d at an optional expanding angle and in a thiciness or amount corresponding to the aperture of the nozzle 14d. A desirable jet pattern of various fluids against the cold matter S can be formed according to the notches shape and ratio of the nozzle 14d, and the device is most suitable as cooling apparatus used in continuous casting or hot roll mill requiring a great amount of water in particular.
