Abstract

PURPOSE: To restrain the movement of working fluid in the heat pipes of a panel heater and to permit noncondensed gas generated inside the pipes to be extracted by connecting the heat pipes to each other with pipes of a caliber smaller than that of the component pipes of the heat pipes, in order to provide the smaller calibered pipes with an orifice function.
CONSTITUTION: Two or more heat pipes 1 are connected to each other being penetrated at the evaporation and condensation parts by connecting pipes 3a and 3b of a caliber smaller than that of the component pipes of the heat pipes 1. Making the caliber of the pipings connecting the ends of the heat pipes to each other smaller than that of the heat pipes provides the connecting pipes 3a and 3b with an orifice function, so that a working fluid is restrained from moving freely between the heat pipes. The constitution permits the amount of heat transmission of each heat pipe to be uniform, and the inert gas generated inside the pipes can be extracted excellently.
