Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a motor with the movable element position detecting mechanism of high precision easily by providing an illuminator element and a photo-receiving element for the movable element, out of which the illuminator element gives rays to the stator, while the photo-receiving element detecting light-quantity variations brought about by the teeth and the grooves.
CONSTITUTION: Movable element 1 with the exciting coil built-in and with magnetic pole teeth on the lower face on the one hand and stator 2 with tooth-form member 5 on the upper face on the other are faced with each other at a given interval, while the movable element being fitted with photo-detecting device 12 consisting of illuminator element 10 and photo-receiving element 11. The elements 10 and 11 are arranged in such a way that tooth-form member 5 is put between the two. When the exciting coil of movable element is of three-phased, photo-receiving element 11a is aligned with the reference point located at the tip of tooth part 3 and further photo-receiving elements 11b and 11c are provided, being shifted sequentially by 1/3 of pitch of tooth-form member 5, while three illuminator elements 10 being provided also in correspondence thereto. In this way, since the quantity of light inciding from tooth part 3 and groove part 4 of stator to photo-receiving elements 11a∼11c is different, the position of movable element can be detected from the output thereof.
