Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep longevity of a gas ionized electrode by minimizing a resistance interposed between it and the gas ionized electrode at the initial stage of charging or after gas detection when performing charging control with use of gas ionized electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Electric charging is done from an AC power supply terminals 10 through a charger 9 to an enclosed storage battery which houses a gas ionized electrode 4, a negative pole 1 and a positive pole 2 in its vessel 3. This charging is controlled in such a way that current to be flowed into the gas ionized electrode 4 is detected, a constantly closed contact 7 is opened and closed by a controller 6 composed of relays, transistors, etc. And the gas ionized electrode 4 is connected to the negative pole 1 through parallel connected mechanism with use of for example a series connector composed of a resistance 5, a resistance 8 which is remarkably smaller than this resistance 5 and a contact 14 for a relay 13 so that it may close the contact 14 for the relay 13 at the initial stage of charging or after gas detection.
