Abstract

PURPOSE: The polycondensation reaction between polyalkylenepolyamine, polyol, polymeric fatty acid and monocarboxylic acid is effected to produce said polyamide soluble in alcohol with improved water and heat resistance and ink characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: (A) a polyalkylenepolyamine of formula: H2N(R'NH)n (R' is 2W3C alkylene, n is 1W5), (B) a polyol having 2W4 hydroxyl groups in the molecule and molecular weight of 48W1000, (C) a polymeric fatty acid and (D) a monocarboxylic acid of formula R''COOH (R'' is 1W20C alkyl) are subjected to polycondensation reaction wherein the equivalent ratio of the amine in (A) to the hydroxyl in (B) preferably ranges from 50:50 to 90:10.
USE: The resulting polyamide resin is used for the vehicle of printing ink on plastic films.
