Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of determination of flow rate of a fluid, which impinges upon rotating turbine blades, with respect to a wide range of Reynolds number, by providing the turbine blade with a viscous correction mechanism consisting of a shroud ring on the turbine blades and a damping ring outside of the shroud ring, whereby a required resistance is given to the turbine blade.
CONSTITUTION: A viscous correction mechanism consisting of a shroud ring 8 and a damping ring 10 is provided. When the position of the damping ring 10 relative to the shroud ring 8 is varied such that the opposed surface area is maximal as shown in Fog. (A), a Reynolds number curve (b) is obtained. This shows an over-controlled state in which a negative instrumental error occurs. When the damping ring 10 is displaced backwardly to a great extent as shown in Fig. (B), the rotational resistance is decreased, and a large positive error occurs within a small range of the Reynolds number. In this case, a Reynolds number curve (a) is obtained. When the opposed surface area of the shroud ring 8 and damping ring 10 is adjusted as shown in Fig. (C), so as to obtain a proper Reynolds number curve (c), the flow rate can be accurately determined with respect to a wide range of Reynolds number.
