CONSTITUTION: Coloring matter such as org. or inorg. pigment or dye, synthetic resin having groups capable of bonding to epoxy groups, and an epoxysilane cpd. such as glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane are dissolved or suspended in water or a hydrophilic org. solvent such as methanol. The resin used contains α, β-unsatd. carboxylic acid lower alkyl ester monomer units and about 2.5'40wt% of COOH groups in the polymer. The epoxysilane cpd. is represented by the formula (where R1 is a 1W10C divalent hydrocarbon group or a 2W10C divalent hydrocarbon group contg. one or more ether bonds, each of R2 and R3 is a 1W5C hydrocarbon group, m=0W1 and n=0W2).
