Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an extremely homogeneous FRP by a method wherein the thixotropic thermoseting resin containing a short inorganic fiber is poured in a mold by agitation and then, hardened.
CONSTITUTION: An inorganic reinforcing resin is added to the thixotropy resin obtained from such a method as adding the silica impalpable powder to a thermosetting resin fluid such as unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin or the like, and they are mixed by agitation to obtain a homogeneous resin compound. When the resin compound is being agitated and poured into the mold, then, it is poured to cover every corner of the mold. When the pouring is stopped and the resin compound is at a standstill, the resin compound viscosity rises rapidly and the reinforcing fiber settles in the resin compound before hardening thereof, thus, the homogeneous compound is obtained.
