Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a conveyor clean economically by a system wherein a number of inlets are made in the surface of a conveying road, and a suction mechanism is provided at one end of an air duct which is connected to the inlet, and a self-propelled cart position detector is placed on the road.
CONSTITUTION: All valves 5 located between connecting pipes 4 and duct 6 are closed so that the air inside the ducts is sucked. Next a self-propelled cart 1 is run on the conveying road 2, and the position signal of the cart is obtained from a contact between the driving portion 1d of the cart and a current collector 1e on the road. The only valve 5 of the connecting pipe 4 which controlsthe inlet 3 located in the section where the cart runs is opened by the signal so as to remove dust on the road. When the cart enters the next section, the valve 5 is closed. By repeating this process, dust is sucked in the only section where the flatcar runs, and the dust on the road can be removed economically.
