Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain emulsion suitable for providing moisture-and water-proofness to paper, fiber, cement products and gypsum products by a method wherein hydrocarbon or polyurethane is preliminarily emulsified into water-soluble high polymer cpd. under mechanical agitation and is then forcedly emulsified under high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: To provide the object aqueous emulsion, hydrocarbons such as waxes and paraffins, or polyurethane and, as required, higher fatty acids or metallic soup thereof are forcedly emulsified into water in the presence of water-soluble high- molecular protective colloid. Or, the aqueous emulsion obtained above is added with synthetic rubber emulsion to provide the object emulsion. Or, synthetic hydrocarbon resin or its derivatives obtained by polymerisation by Friedle-Crafts reaction of a 5W9C, -20W250°C fraction produced by naphtha cracking, hydrocarbons such as waxes and paraffins, or polyurethane is forcedly emulsified into water.
