Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an anion selective electrode for a clinical examination to measure an urea specimen with less adverse effect thereto due to detrimental content by employing a sensitive film providing a cellulose high molecular film on the surface of the specimen side to be detected.
CONSTITUTION: A film 1 is formed by a sensitive film (an inner layer 1a) of polyvinyl chloride dispersed with quaternary ammonium salt having approx. 1W4 of C7W16 alkyl chains, and a cellulose high molecular film (an outer layer 1b) having approx. 1W3 acetyl groups. This film 1 is provided at the lower end of a cylindrical body 2 of polyvinyl chloride. Reference liquid 3 is contained in the body 2. An internal electrode 4 is inserted through a cover 5 into the liquid 3 as an anion selective electrode. The film 1 is formed by the steps of bonding or welding the sensitive film (the inner layer 1a) to the lower end of the body 2 using tetrahydrofuran, then dipping the lower end in tetrahydrofuran solution of acetyl cellulose, then picking it up, and evaporating solvent to thereby form the outer layer 1b.
