Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the driving force level of the test vehicle at a high accuracy and in a short space of time by having thereof added by the mechanical loss of the rotating shaft system wherein the test vehicle is excepted.
CONSTITUTION: A rotational frequency detector 9 and an operator 10 are provided and connected to a driving force indicator together with a driving force detector 8. The mechanical loss of the rotary drum 2 or the like is measured varying the rotational frequency of the rotating shaft system including the rotary drum 2 and the flywheel 5 with no test vehicle carried on the rotary drum and is memorized by the operator 10. Then, the test vehicle 1 is placed on the rotary drum and driven. The driving force is detected with the driving force detector 8 and inputted to the driving force indicator 11. At the same time, the rotational frequency B of the rotating shaft system in the chassis dynamometer is detected with the rotational frequency detector so that the mechanical loss C corresponding to the rotational frequency B is computed with the operator 10. The value C is inputted to the driving force indicator 11 to indicate the addition of both values A and C.
