Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish an accurate detection of test work even at the low speed specifying the slice level with respect to the moving speed thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The pulse produced from a pulse encoder connected to a wheel 6 rotating in contact with the test work 1 is converted with a D/A converter 8. Thereafter, it is applied to a comparator 9 to set the slice level almost in the middle between that to be produced when any flow is present on the surface thereof the that corresponding to noises. By this, the image 2' of a flaw is formed on a photosenser 4 through an optical system 3 and moves following the movement of the work, while the waveform 5' thereof is inputted into a comparator by way of a differential amplifier 5.
